Windows 10: Microsoft Minesweeper not loading Discus and support Microsoft Minesweeper not loading in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I have already sent this problem in the feedback hub, but when I launch microsoft minesweeper, it just boots up, and remains stuck in the title screen. Discussion in 'Windows 10 Gaming' started by the117doctor, Feb 24, 2020. Windows 10 has a lot of built-in advertising. This isn’t just about the free upgrade offer: Even if you purchase a new PC that comes with a Windows 10 license or spend $200 for a copy of Windows 10 Professional, you’ll see ads in your operating system. You can, however, disable a lot of it.
I finally upgraded to Windows 10 on my PC and now I can’t find Minesweeper. I love that game!
Where did it go??There are some games that have absolutely become core to the overall computing experience. None more popular than Solitaire, of course, but running a close second is Minesweeper, a sort of one-person Battleship game that revolves around logical deduction skills. Both of these were removed from Windows 10 somewhere along its evolution for reasons I cannot possibly explain (disk space? Negative feedback about games on a serious computer? Revenue opportunities?). Fortunately they’re both available for free through the.In fact, I’ve written previously about if you’d like to restore that game too, so check that out. In terms of Minesweeper, it’s a bit puzzling because even though Microsoft has its own official version of the game for Win10, it’s a third party app that shows up by default if you do a rudimentary search through Cortana.
Let’s jump in and I’ll step you through this minefield so you can get back and running on Minesweeper! To start out, don’t assume Cortana knows what game you want if you search:In fact, it shows a Wikipedia page instead of a link to the game. And the “MineSweeper (Free)” link on the left side? That’s the wrong version of the game too. Well, it’s not “wrong”, it’s just an independent game developer’s version, not the Microsoft version. You’ll see what I mean in a moment.Instead, open up the Microsoft Store app and search for “minesweeper”:There are three matches. Microsoft Minesweeper with a 4-star rating, MineSweeper (Free) with its 3 stars, and, for reasons I cannot explain, Microsoft Treasure Hunt, which ain’t what ya seek.Click or tap on “” to get the gameEasy enough, click on the blue “ Get” button and it’ll download and installEventually, depending on your network connection, it’ll be installed and ready to play. Yay!ADD MINESWEEPER TO THE START MENUNow, since I’m guessing you’re fairly new to Windows 10 at this point, let’s make sure you can find it again next time.
On the Start Menu scroll or swipe down to find Microsoft Minesweeper on the full list of available programs:Can you see it highlighted on the left side? It even says “New” underneath! Now, with it showing, right click on the program name and a menu will pop up:Choose “Pin to Start” and it’ll add a “tile” to the graphical portion of the Start Menu. Now any time you want to play the game, all you have to do is click to show the Start Menu and click (or tap, I know) to launch Minesweeper from its bright, colorful icon.Which reminds me, here’s how it looks now:Still the same game, but with some additional bells and whistles and a nicer looking board.
Now, go make the ocean safe for boats by marking all the mines before you.BOOM.Oh, uhm, try again. ?Pro Tip: I’ve been writing about Windows since the earliest generations of the system. Please check out my extensive while you’re here on the site.
I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. I've played Minesweeper Adventure & Treasure Hunt numerous times when I had Windows 8.1 with no difficulty. Now that I've upgraded to Windows 10, the screen is blacked off to the right. The game boardthat is covered up by the black screen will move to a point and then stop. Arrow buttons will not move the screen like they did in Windows 8.1. At no point is the entire level of the game able to be seen like it was seen in Windows 8.1.I haven't checked to see if it happens in other games.Does anyone know what might be wrong or how to fix it?
I have buy a new PC whit Windows 10 X64 Home and a Nvidia GT720 whit latest driver installed.During 'Normal' Games the games it's ok.but the 'Adventure Mode' it's a completely glitchred:The half right part of the screen it's a completely unwatchable. I can't see block or mine of all and i can found exit or addictional block or similar!!! In this situation this games it's unplayable.Searching on Google i see it's a very long. Where's all Microsoft DEVELOPERS??? Going to work to fix it.EDIT.I have also tryed to set 'Tablet' mode before to running.nothings working at all. Good microsoft. Good works:).
Perhaps the most appalling thing about this issue is that it was raised over a year ago and Microsoft has done NOTHING to fix it even though so many of us who used to play it daily (or in my case several times a day) are plagued with a miserable defect inWindows 10.This should have been fixed last year. I've been playing Minesweeper since the 1990s. I added Minesweeper Adventure and Treasure Hunt when I got Windows 8.1. After 'upgrading' to Windows 10 I'm finding a number of 'downgrades', including its inability toallow these games to run properly.Evidently, nobody at Microsoft is listening or cares. The company and its executives should be ashamed.

That is not a fix but rather a long-known workaround.Even though the right side is blacked out, as long as you keep moving to to the right the upcoming portions of the game board reveal themselves out of the darkness UNTIL you get near the end of the game board. That's when it stops revealing any more of theboard and you can't move forward without going into the darkness and, no doubt, hitting a mine. The workaround is to go as far as you can at 100% then, near the end when no more board will reveal itself, you zoom in and then the board comes into view, albeit at an agonizing and annoying close-up magnitude. If you have a wheel on your mouse, you justroll the wheel to zoom in or out.Nevertheless, that is still not enough to make the game worth continuing to play. I have not played the game for several months, whenever I upgraded to Windows 10 and realized that the low-lives at Microsoft could care less about us and were not going tolift a finger to fix the damage they had done and even worse, the great disservice they have done to people who have been playing Minesweeper for decades. If you can stand using the work around then by all means enjoy yourself. I think a lot of people (probably most long-time Minesweeper Adventure and Treasure Hunt players) just use the workaround to get out of the game without stepping on a mine and thenstop playing, maintaining their levels and resources, in hopes that during their lifetimes the developers at Microsoft will get their thumbs out of their.
and fix the blackout issue.
